Common questions

Should we build native or use React Native?

Most of the Surrey apps we build use React Native, since it covers iOS and Android from a single codebase without doubling the cost. We'll point you toward a fully native build when performance or a specific platform feature genuinely calls for it, and explain why before any code gets written.

How long will our app take to build?

It comes down to scope. A single-platform app with a handful of screens moves much faster than one with heavy backend work or live data syncing. We work in short sprints with regular check-ins, so you can see the app taking shape rather than waiting until the end to find out.

We're not based in Surrey. Can we still work with you?

Yes. Most of our client relationships run remotely day-to-day, including plenty of London-based businesses. Being Surrey based just means there's always a real office and a real team behind the emails, and we're happy to meet in person if that helps.

Who owns the app once it's finished?

You do. The app, the code and the design are yours outright once it's built, and we're happy to sign an NDA before any detail gets shared. Most of the apps we've built for Surrey clients have stayed exactly that private.

Are you still around once the app's live?

Very much so. App Store and Play Store updates alone mean an app needs looking after once it's live, and most clients come back with new features once real users start putting it through its paces. Some of our longest-running Surrey relationships started with a single app.
